334: Spoiler Alert! Answering All Your Avengers: Endgame Questions! (April 29, 2019)
Welcome back to another episode here at HYLT Radio!
Here are the main topics we’ll be discussing today:
Marvel:
THIS WILL BE A SPOILER HEAVY EPISODE!!! EVEN JUST READING THIS QUESTIONS WILL GIVE AWAY IMPORTANT ASPECTS OF THE FILM, SO PLEASE PROCEED AT YOUR OWN CAUTION!!!
17:00 – Who is the random boy at the funeral?
18:30 – Is Peter still in high school? Will his classmates change, since some of them wouldn’t have been snapped?
23:00 – Loki gets the space stone in 2012, is this the starting point for his Disney+ series?
26:00 – Gamora, Nebula, and Thanos jump from 2014 to 2023, so is there a timeline where there is no snap? Could they potentially go back and get another Tony Stark, Natasha, and Vision? Couldn’t they go back and get ANYONE who dies in these movies? At this point do we believe, to paraphrase Luke Skywalker, that anyone is ever really gone?
30:00 – Why wouldn’t Nebula have mentioned there might be some sort of exchange required when it came to getting the Soul stone? There was a lot of foreshadowing for Natasha’s death with lines like “see you in a minute” or “bring back the stone, and that’s it”.
40:30 – If Doctor Strange and the other sorcerers could sling ring everyone to the battle, why didn’t he just sling ring himself, Tony and Peter off of the Q ship in Infinity War, that way never having brought the Time Stone to Titan?
45:45 – Was Tony’s death necessary to complete the story arc or was it needed to make room for big name characters like Reed Richards and Charles Xavier in the MCU?
60:30 – There were some interesting decisions with Thor, most of all dealing with loss when you’ve “won”. Did this film re-contextualize some of his early films in the MCU? How does this reimagining of the character affect people with body image issues?
68:00 – If Cap had returned all the stones, did he come face to face with the Red Skull? Also, how is his ending not a complete contradiction to what Banner said earlier that you couldn’t make changes in the past to end up with a different future?
76:00 – Is Sam going to be Captain America in the Falcon and Winter Soldier show?
80:00 – Finally, is the juggernaut that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe finally going to lose steam now that we’ve had this epic conclusion? Do the characters we have left bring enough to the table to continue the momentum built up over the last ten plus years?
